Hi. My name is Sheryl McGlochlin with crazysheryl.com. Welcome to expertvillage.com. Lots of times, you will need to carry other things while you are snowshoeing and I want to talk to you about some of those very important things. I like to wear a backpack like the one that Oscar is wearing right now. There's some key, important things you need to have when you are snowshoeing. Water is very important. Plan to drink water in the winter when you are snowshoeing. You will get a workout and you need to replenish your water. Also, always take a cell phone. If there is a problem or if you see someone in trouble (or you are in trouble, yourself), it's important to try and get some help and a cell phone is a very important thing. Here is a headband I like to carry with me and I didn't mention this before, but sunglasses for the snow. Especially when you are out in the snow and the sun hits down, sunglasses are critical to be able to have with you when you are backpacking or snowshoeing. Also, I like to carry some of my other winter accessories. So, if I'm starting to get too hot, I can always put them in here. A trail snack, like trail mix, is a really good thing. Always carry a good healthy snack with you when you are in the snow. Your lips will get dry. It's a good idea to always carry some lip balm or some type of a sunblock with you. These are just some of the important things that are critical. I like to carry a little thing of Vaseline for lip protection. Here in Utah, so hand lotion comes in real handy. Some key things to remember to take when you are snowshoeing.
