Today we're going to talk about starting a trigger. Now what is a trigger? A trigger is essentially a timing mechanism that gets you ready to go through your swing. Now everyone has a different, a little bit different take on a trigger, but there are some parts that you really cannot avoid, you have to be in the correct starting position. Now what a trigger is, is essentially, you see the pitcher, he's getting ready to throw you the ball. So as your little idiosyncracy, you move your leg a little bit, maybe you lift your leg up and you get it back down in the right position and your hands are going over your back foot. Now what is this doing? This is getting you in the correct hitting position, so your hands can freely move to the ball and you can easily open up your hips and drive through the ball. Now in real time, this is what it's going to look like. Alright, pitcher's on the mound, here we go, starts it, as you can see I had just a little bit of movement. My left foot moved just slightly and my hands moved back over my back foot. This got me in the correct position to create a trigger. Now what's a trigger? You think of a trigger on a gun, what does it get you ready to do, it starts all the motion. That's the same thing with hitting. This, now I've pulled the trigger, now the gun goes off. Same kind of concept. Now that is starting a trigger.
