Hello and welcome to Expert Village. I'm Phillip Toriello from the Avila Bay Athletic Club. One arm drills are really fantastic way to maximize your strength per arm, but also to realize the true power of your stroke. What I like to do is basically do a 75 type drill, using right arm down to one side of the pool, left arm back, then using both arms. What you'll generally find is that when you do this drill, you'll really realize the distance per stroke that each arm offers. You'll use a pool buoy to take that stroke live, have a nice slow recovery, take that stroke live, nice slow recovery. This really provides you the opportunity to realize how much strength each arm has. The part I like most about this particular drill is when you start using both arms. When you use both arms, you'll really be able to discover how fast you can go and how much strength your body really has.
