O.k, to continue with proper jump shooting we'll cover the stance now. First we discussed the T shaped hand position, now your proper stance. Your feet should be no more than shoulder length apart. Try to keep them up under your body and even if possible. If you shoot right handed then it's o.k. if your right foot is slightly in front but not much, you don't want to be unbalanced. You want your body to be centered. If you shoot left handed, it's o.k. for your left foot to be slightly in front, but not much. I shoot right handed, so I'll show you the right handed way. I keep my feet even, centered up under my body, and I bend my knees slightly before I go into a shot, make the T like I showed you, T shaped hand position, keep the ball in front of you and keep your elbows, it's, it's important for your elbows to stay in close to the body, o.k. You don't want your elbow out, you don't want to shoot like this. You want it in so your wrist and arms stay under the ball, o.k. Knees bent and as you come up, you want to come up with your elbow almost at an L shape, o.k. You bring it up in front of your face and as you elevate, your ball and arms should go continually straight up into the top of your jump, you want to pop your wrist at the top, o.k. I'll, I'll show you in slow motion. Start, keep your elbow in. T shaped hand position, knees bent, you're going to come up and rotate the ball, pop the wrist at the very top, you want to pop the wrist to get the proper ball rotation. I'll show you in fast motion. O.k. Once you get to the very top of your jump, before you come back down is when you release the ball. Remember pop your wrist at the top, for the ball to rotate and that's how you get the spin. Knees bent, stay centered and balanced, ball, elbows in, ball resting. And, that's proper shooting stance.
