Any twists in prenatal yoga should only be taken to about 75% of your limit. Never taking a full spinal twist while you're pregnant. We have a nice modified twist called a standing twist in prenatal yoga. I'm going to have Emily showing it here. First, I'm going to have you stand in equal standing pose. You're bringing your feet together. Toes slightly more in than the heels. Strong wonderful thighs. Literally stacking one part of the body on to the next. I'm going to have you cross your right leg over your left. Perfect. Standing spinal twists here is going to help release some of the pressure out of her back. Also, strengthens the abdominal muscles and it helps energize you. I'm going to have you take your arms all the way out to the sides. Perfect. Now, take a nice deep inhale. As you exhale, gently twisting to the right. You're looking straight off to the right. Never strain your neck looking behind you. We're going to drop the front arm. Lift it up to the sky. Back arm drops down, palms facing off to the right. Beautiful. Nice twist to the ribs, but it's not taking it too deep that it can constrict the baby there. Take a nice deep inhale. As you exhale, level the arms off in a T position and slowly untwisting uncrossing the leg. Perfect. Release your arms down to your side.
