If you're getting ready to go for a hike there really isn't much that you need but there's certain things I suggest you take with you. Well for instance, you might just want to dress for whatever the weather is. You want to be warm, but you also want to wear something that is breathable so when you are starting to hike and your body temperature rises, that you'll be able to really get your sweat out and then the breathable material will actually be able to protect you. So you want to make sure you have a great pair of hiking shoes and it just depends on where you're hiking if you're hiking in a place that has a pavement then a good pair of running shoes or cross trainers are good, but then you might want to get a great pair of hiking shoes if there's more gravel or something like that on the ground. Also, when you're going hiking water. Water is so important. Always be sure to hydrate, especially when you're going for longer hikes. A snack is another great thing. I suggest fruit or protein bar, but fruit is always great, just something to tide you over when you're on the trail just in case you do start to lose energy or it becomes a lot more difficult than you think. Also sunglasses. Sunglasses or a hat is a great thing to take with you on a hike. You want to protect your eyes, you want to protect your skin and your body so like a hat that really covers your body will be good as well. Cell phones are great because you never know what may happen just for safety issues you may want to take your cell phone with you especially if you're not going with a companion. And then just a great pouch or something to put all of your stuff in so you don't have to worry about carrying all the things when you're on your trail, you can just focus on having a great hike.
