For maximum health benefits and reduced disease risks, you should aim to get 150 minutes of cardio every week, recommends the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. But you don't need a gym membership to work out. With the best cardio videos on the market, you can get fit from the comfort of your own home.

Best for Torching Calories

If your goal is to simply shed pounds and burn calories, your best bet is Amy Dixon's Breathless Body, Volume 2: The Edge. This 55-minute video workout was named one of the top 10 hottest workout DVDs of 2013 by "Fitness" magazine. The magazine noted it was one of the most intense calorie-burning workouts it ever reviewed.

Best Boredom Buster

If traditional cardio makes you yawn, bust out of your boredom rut with Weight Loss Cardio Kick with Violet Zaki. It was picked by "Woman's Day" magazine as one of 2013's must-have fitness DVDs. Each 20-minute video combines traditional cardio with kickboxing for a creative twist on the usual aerobics.

Best Quickie

If you're short on time and want it hard and quick, try Physique 57's Express 30-Minute Full-Body Workout. It was a favorite among the editors at "Real Simple" magazine, who claimed it offered the fastest overall full-body cardio routine they've reviewed.
