How to Keep Your Bra From Showing Under a Very Sheer Top

A sheer top brings a delicate element to an outfit, but when your bra shines through, it can be embarrassing. Even if you have the confidence to sport a see-through top, showing your underwear is not appropriate in the workplace or in some social situations. If you want to wear a sheer top, wear an invisible or nude bra. This kind of bra matches your skin color and hides your personal areas -- perfect for showing some skin without showing too much of it.

Step 1

Wear a strapless nude bra, one that matches your skin tone, with a tank top in the same color as your sheer shirt. The tank will hide your bra but still give you an ethereal look.

Step 2

Select a delicate camisole to wear under the sheer top. A cropped cami can also look nice under a sheer top. Match the color of the blouse; for example, wear a royal blue camisole with a royal blue sheer blouse. Try a sheer camisole over a nude bra for a very sheer look.

Step 3

Layer the blouse over your bra and under a pullover or turtleneck. Topping a sheer blouse with a sweater or jacket is another bra-hiding solution.

Things You'll Need

  • Nude bra

  • Tank top

  • Camisole

  • Pullover sweater

  • Turtleneck

Always wear a bra under a sheer shirt, even if the front is heavily embroidered or embellished. Shirts can shift, leaving you exposed.
