Got a sweet tooth? Here’s a treat that’ll satisfy your sugar cravings — without any added sugars. Plus, each bite-sized morsel is perfectly portioned, so go ahead and enjoy one. And with no artificial ingredients, it’s way better than any store-bought version!
Our incredibly simple recipe features just four ingredients: dark chocolate, almond butter, maple syrup and vanilla extract.
High in antioxidants, dark chocolate can help protect your body from free-radical damage. It’s also good for your ticker, too. The flavanols in cacao help lower blood pressure and improve blood flow to the heart.
But we’re not stopping there. Smooth and mildly sweet almond butter boasts an impressive fiber and healthy fat content, which can help keep you satiated longer. It can also reduce heart disease, diabetes and stroke risk.
When making this recipe, make sure you use a silicone ice cube tray. Since silicone is heat-resistant, it’ll stand up well to hot, melted chocolate.
Begin by spooning melted chocolate into each ice cube compartment, and then chill the tray. Next, top the chocolate with a filling made from almond butter, maple syrup and vanilla extract. Finally, add the remaining melted chocolate, and then refrigerate until the chocolate is solid.
