Tyra Banks had a nose job at the beginning of her modeling career — and she’s fulling owning it today.

Video of the Day

In a new interview with People, the 44-year-old host and executive producer of “America’s Next Top Model” says, “I admit it! Fake hair, and I did my nose. I feel I have a responsibility to tell the truth.”

While some might call out Tyra for not copping to her nose job sooner (despite rumors of it for years), she has preemptively silenced her critics, saying, “There is a boundary line, either you’re super natural or you live at the plastic surgeon. It’s OK to hop back and forth over that line. You want a hair weave? Fine. You want permanent eyebrows? Fine. We as women need to stop judging.” We couldn’t agree more.

Given that she coined the term “smize” (aka smiling with your eyes) and helped popularize the catchphrase “resting on pretty” (one of her go-to “ANTM” critiques), it should be no surprise that Tyra wants people to know that beauty — and being a model — takes effort.

She tells People that, “As a model, I needed makeup. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. It leveled my playing field. Gisele, you don’t need it? I do! And we’re both modeling for Victoria’s Secret.”

With her upcoming book “Perfect Is Boring,” Tyra seems ready to take on the idealization of natural beauty. She says, “Natural beauty is unfair. I get really uncomfortable when women who are these natural beauties judge anybody who does anything to themselves.”

So where does she stand on the whole #nomakeup movement? Back in 2015, she posted this barefaced selfie, writing, “I wanted to smooth out my dark circles so badly!!! But I was like, ‘Naw, Ty. Show ’em the REAL you.’”

Sounds like she drank the #nomakeup Kool-Aid, right? Not quite. The next day, she posted this selfie, and proclaimed, “The painted face you’re looking at right now...THIS is REALLY me, too. Is it raw? Heck no! Is it real? The jury’s out on that, but I say, ‘Yeah.’ I know what you’re thinking. ‘What???!!!’ It’s real because I’m keepin’ it REAL by admitting I need to put stuff on my face to look like a supermodel. (Add a lil’ retouching and Wham, the final look is complete!) Yeah, I wished I woke up looking flawless, but that just ain’t me. Not at all. And I’m not ashamed to admit it. None of us should be.”

Proof that you can be fierce and flawsome (as T would say)!

What Do YOU Think?

Does it matter that Tyra didn’t own up to her nose job sooner? Should celebrities be more honest about their plastic surgeries? Do you agree that the whole notion of natural beauty is unfair?
