Yogurt is a delicious, healthy treat as a dessert or a quick mid-day pick-me-up -- and it is also an effective skin moisturizer. Plus, yogurt removes trapped dirt and oil from the skin on your face and other parts of your body. Unlike some other skincare products, a yogurt moisturizer can be used for either dry or oily skin. Preparing a yogurt moisturizer takes only a few minutes and requires ingredients you likely already have in your kitchen.

Measure 1 cup yogurt into a medium-sized bowl.

Pour 1 tbsp. honey into a small bowl and microwave on high for 10 seconds.

Mix 2 tbsp. old-fashioned oatmeal into the yogurt. Add the warm honey to the mixture to make a moisturizer for dry skin; or, add 10 drops of lemon juice to the mixture to make a moisturizer for oily skin. Stir until thoroughly blended.

Apply with your fingers a thick layer of the yogurt mixture onto your neck and face, including your jawbone, nose and forehead, and other body parts, such as elbows and knees. Rub it in thoroughly.

Leave the mixture on your skin for 15 minutes, or until it dries and hardens.

Rinse off the yogurt moisturizer with warm water. Use a washcloth or sponge on sensitive areas, like around your eyes.

Tip

Refrigerate leftover moisturizer in a sealed container for up to five days.

Warning

If you get some of the mixture in your eye, rinse thoroughly for two to five minutes. Lemon juice may cause a slight sting.
