Myrtle Beach, situated on a barrier island in South Carolina between the Intracoastal Waterway and Atlantic Ocean, is among the top family vacation destinations in the U.S. Hosting almost 15 million visitors a year, Myrtle Beach is famous for its white sand beaches. But it also offers a wide range of attractions including an aquarium, amusement parks and an Imax theater.
Video of the Day
Myrtle Beach is also home of the U.S. ProMiniGolf Association, so it’s no surprise that it offers many options--and a lot of enthusiasm--for mini-golf. Its moderate climate—daytime temperatures average about 60 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter--means mini-golf can be enjoyed year-round.
Myrtle Beach offers more than two dozen major mini-golf courses, plus a number of smaller operators. Whether you choose by location, size, theme or degree of difficulty, there is a good choice for every taste or preference.
Themes include a broad range of choices, from pirate and jungle motifs to American pop culture icons such as Gilligan’s Island and Jurassic Park. But price is also often an issue. And Myrtle Beach also delivers good value for cheap family fun or social competition among family and friends.
Take advantage of the best rate in town at Springmaid Beach Resort, where all-day privileges are priced at $7 for adults and $6 for children 4 to 10 as of 2010.
