When people think of squash, they typically think of autumn. More of these nutritional treasures in the grocery and market in northern areas. One of the popular types is spaghetti squash. This is a nutrient- dense vegetable that has many uses.

Spaghetti squash is usually consumed cooked. A cup of cooked spaghetti squash has about 42 calories, acording to the Self Nutrition Data website.

Special Considerations -- Fiber

A cup of cooked spaghetti squash also contains 2 grams of fiber. One cup offers 10 grams of carbohydrates. Compare this to a cup of cooked pasta, which has four times the amount of carbohydrates, 43 grams, and 221 calories. All this with only one more gram of fiber, 3 grams, says Self Nutrition Data.
