Is There a Homemade Way to Grow Hair Faster in 2 Weeks?

On average, hair grows at a rate of 1/4 to 1/2 inch per month. Several factors can affect the rate of hair growth, including diet and health conditions. If you are experiencing problems with slow hair growth, or hair loss, consult your physician to rule out possible illnesses, such as a nutritional deficiency or a thyroid condition. Some hair remedies can encourage hair growth by stimulating blood flow to the hair follicles. According to Valerie Ann Worwood, author of "The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy," essential oils of rosemary and mint both encourage hair growth.

Step 1

Pour the vitamin E, castor and jojoba oil into the plastic bottle. Shake the bottle to thoroughly mix the oils.

Step 2

Add the peppermint and rosemary essential oils to the plastic bottle. Shake or roll the bottle between your hands to dispense the oils.

Step 3

Squeeze a quarter-sized portion into the palm of your hand.

Step 4

Massage the oil into your scalp, paying close attention to areas of hair loss or slow growth.

Step 5

Wrap your head in a towel and leave the treatment on your scalp for at least 20 minutes. Rinse your hair with warm water, followed by cool water.

Step 6

Store the oil in a cool, dry place and apply the treatment once a day for two weeks.

Things You'll Need

  • ¼ cup vitamin E oil

  • 1/8 cup castor oil

  • 1/8 cup jojoba oil

  • 15 drops peppermint essential oil

  • 15 drops rosemary essential oil

  • Plastic squeeze bottle

  • Towel

If your hair is thin or oily, substitute sesame and carrot oil for the jojoba and castor oils. If you wash your hair every morning, apply the treatment the night before and leave it on overnight. Cover your pillow with a towel to protect your bedding.
