The diet focuses on a seven-day meal plan that includes 12 power foods and lists basic principles that can be used by everyone, even though it was specially created for men.
The Abs Diet lists foods such as almonds, beans, spinach, fat-free dairy products, oatmeal, eggs, lean meat such as turkey and chicken, peanut butter, whole-grain cereal and olive oil. You can choose to cook your meals in olive oil, but you must lightly saute vegetables instead of cooking them at a high temperature.
Foods to Avoid
Avoid processed foods and sugary snacks such as doughnuts, pastries and candy. If you are craving something sweet, snack on an apple, which will help increase your metabolism so the body burns more stored fat.
Drinks to Avoid
To obtain killer abs, avoid fizzy drinks such as soda and alcohol. Limit caffeine intake to one cup a day, and replace it with green tea, which is believed to have fat-burning properties. Water is important to aid in digestion and flush toxins from your body, and helps to reduce bloating, which will help your midsection.
Health experts agree that spot reduction is impossible. You cannot eat or work out with a goal of reducing belly fat only. Instead, a complete body workout is required. If you have a normal body mass index, opt for an hour of cardiovascular exercises or power walks. Remember that you can continue eating belly blasting foods, but working out will also help in toning your stomach.
