The Weslo Cadence 78E is a motorized, fold-up treadmill for in-home use. The Weslo brand is made by Icon Health and Fitness, which also makes other popular treadmill brands such as NordicTrack and Reebok. The Cadence 78E offers basic features such as a manually adjustable incline and an electronic console.

Identification

The 78E is a small treadmill manufactured in 2005 and sold by Sears. The Weslo 78E is a compact machine with a small footprint. It weighs 125 lbs. The belt is 16 inches wide and 45 inches long. The 78E supports user loads up to 250 lbs.

Design

The 78E sports a space saving design. The deck folds up so you can store the unit in an upright position. Wheels on the legs of the 78E allow you to tilt it and roll it to another room or storage area. According to the user's manual, you must be able to lift 45 lbs in order to raise, lower or move the treadmill.

Features

The Weslo 78E has a motorized belt that supports speeds from 0 to 10 mph. You change the speed using the buttons on the console. The 78E offers four incline positions. To adjust the incline you must turn off and unplug the machine. Fold the treadmill into its upright storage position. Remove the pin from the incline legs on the bottom of the treadmill and adjust to the desired height. Make sure to position both legs at the same setting.

Console

The electronic console provides basic information about your workout. The display shows the elapsed time, distance, speed and the approximate calories you have burned during your workout session. You can set the display to show the distance and speed in either miles or kilometers.

Availability

The Weslo 78E is no longer manufactured and is not available new. Used units are available for sale online by private owners. You may also find some of these machines at garage sales or flea markets.
