With multiple Super Bowl Championships and NFL league Most Valuable Player awards, as well as a host of local, national and international recognition, Tom Brady has established himself as one of the league's premier quarterbacks. Throwing the football like Tom Brady takes years of hard work, dedication and commitment. His tight spirals seemingly find their way into the hands of open receivers year after year. With a compact throwing motion and increased arm strength, you can learn to throw like this consummate professional.

Video of the Day

Step 1

Develop your footwork properly by practicing three-, five- and seven-step drops. This builds an essential framework for throwing tight spirals.

Step 2

Plant your feel securely into the ground and keep your weight balanced on both feet. Brady never seems to lose his balance or composure when throwing to his receivers.

Step 3

Build your arm strength by playing long toss -- throwing the ball as far as you can -- at least three times per week. Weight lifting and throwing the ball as hard as you can at an intermediate target are also ways to develop this trait.

Step 4

Compete in as many game situations as possible. Develop your quarterbacking ability by joining a school team or a recreational league.

Step 5

Study Brady's throwing motion, taking note of how there is no wasted arm action and the delivery is clean and compact. Practice a drill throwing 100 short passes to copy this essential move.

Step 6

Watch game film of the New England Patriots -- Tom Brady's professional team as of the end of the 2010 season -- and analyze his decisions. Becoming a student of his game will provide you the opportunity to emulate his success.
