Zipfizz is an energy drink sold in powder. With only 10 calories, Zipfizz is a low-calorie alternative to many of the energy drinks available on the market. According to the product manufacturer, Zipfizz contains 25 nutrients that provide a boost in energy approximately 15 minutes after consumption. Additionally, Zipfizz purports to provide this boost of energy without the jittery feelings associated with other energy drinks.

What Does It Do?

Zipfizz contains 41,667 percent of your daily recommended vitamin B12 requirements. This exceptionally large quantity of vitamin B12 provides your body with energy. Unlike many other energy drinks, Zipfizz does not contain ephedra, high levels of caffeine and sugars. According to the product manufacturer, because Zipfizz’s energy boost comes from natural ingredients, you will not experience the highs and lows associated with other energy drinks when you consume Zipfizz.


Zipfizz contains 25 nutritional ingredients including all of the B complex vitamins and vitamins C and E. Additionally, Zipfizz contains the minerals calcium, chromium, magnesium, manganese, potassium, selenium and sodium. Zipfizz also contains the amino acids arginine and taurine and the antioxidants green tea extract, grape seed extract, ginger and ginseng. The 100 mgs of caffeine found in Zipfizz comes from the green tea extract and guarana.

Sweeteners In Zipfizz

Zipfizz does not contain any sugar. Xylitol and sucralose are the sweeteners found in Zipfizz. Xylitol is a naturally occurring sugar substitute found in berries, fruits and birch bark. Sucralose is a low-calorie sweetener made from sugar more commonly known as Splenda. Sucralose is approximately 600 times sweeter than regular table sugar.

Too Much B12

All B vitamins including B12 are water soluble, meaning your body gets rid of the excess. B12 is the only B vitamin that your body stores, and your body stores excess B12 in your liver. According to “The Wonders of Vitamin B12: Keep Sane and Young,” there are no known side effects or long-term health problems associated with B12 supplementation.
