There are many products on the market today that claim extraordinary health benefits. Two of those, lemon oil and lemongrass oil, do have various helpful properties. Despite the name similarity they're not the same thing.

About Lemon Oil

Lemon oil is made through a cold-press process; a fresh peel of a lemon is pressed down to produce a small bit of oil. One ton of lemon peel produces approximately 6 to 7 pounds of lemon oil.

Benefits of Lemon Oil

Lemon oil acts as a mood enhancer for aromatherapy. It is also used as an astringent and occasionally as an antiseptic. Cosmetically, some use lemon oil to brighten skin.

About Lemongrass Oil

Lemongrass oil is extracted from various types of lemongrass grown worldwide. The oil is extracted from the dried leaves by a steam distillation process.

Benefits of Lemongrass Oil

Lemongrass oil acts as an anti-depressant, astringent, deodorant and tonic, among other things. It helps to relieve jetlag symptoms and combats headaches; it is also useful for clearing up skin blemishes and acne.

Availability

Lemongrass oil is commonly used to dilute other oils, and it is relatively easy to find. Lemongrass oil offers many of the same benefits as lemon oil but usually at a lower price.
