Motivation: Fake It ‘Til You Make It


This post goes out to all the folks who have walked into a gym only to be paralyzed by what you interpret as an army of seemingly motivated fit bodies all stopping to look at you — a feeling so palpable, you can practically hear a Missy Elliott record scratch.

I'm going to let you in on a little secret: It's all in your head. No one is looking at you. It's simply an externalization of your discomfort in the gym.

We've all been there. But in order to succeed at your fitness goals, you have to break through this uncomfortable stage. Here are four ways to do that:

1) Grab a workout buddy, so you don't have to fly solo.

2) Put your headphones on and pump your theme song.

3) Hit the gym during non-peak hours.

4) Fake it 'til you make it.
