New Update to LIVESTRONG’s Calorie Tracker for iPhone has New Recurring Food Tracking Feature


A new update for the LIVESTRONG.COM Calorie Tracker app (formerly known as MyPlate) has been released and we think you're going to love our newest feature! “Recurring Food” is going to make tracking even easier for busy people who want to keep an eye on their daily calories and macros, but don't always have time to stop and track after every meal.

Many people who have been successful in their health and fitness journeys report that they often eat the same meals and snacks over and over. We recently shared Dean L.'s weight-loss success story in which he shared that he eats the same thing for breakfast and lunch every day. Dean lost 95 pounds using the LIVESTRONG Calorie Tracker, so tracking works! With the new Recurring Food feature, Dean will be able to set those meals up to be automatically tracked, making calorie tracking even easier to stick with for the long haul.

Our developer team has been hard at work so far this year.  Back in April, we launched the free LIVESTRONG.COM Calorie Tracker app for Apple Watch and in May, we released our brand-new LIVESTRONG.COM Mobile Calorie Tracker app for Android!  LIVESTRONG.COM is determined to keep providing the best tools possible to support you in your health and fitness journey.

3 Key Features in This Update to the LIVESTRONG.COM Calorie Tracker App for iPhone and iPad:

Recurring Food. This will be your new favorite feature if you’re a serious calorie tracker. If, for example, you eat the same breakfast or lunch every day, you can now set that food up to be tracked automatically for up to a year. You can customize it even further and specify only certain days of the week for the automatic tracking. This works great for people who might eat the same lunch every day during the work week but something different on the weekends.


Revamped Water Tracking.  We listened to your feedback and completely overhauled the entire water-tracking experience to make it simpler and more intuitive. Just swipe up or down on an animated cup to add or remove water. Water can be easily added by increments of 1 oz, 8 oz, 12 oz or 24 oz.  We know how important water is in your diet and with this update, keeping track of your water intake is now even easier and more convenient.

Weekly Macronutrients Breakdown. Successful health aficionados know that you can't make or break your diet with one cheat meal or even a cheat day. Hitting your daily macro targets is important, but keeping an eye on your weekly averages for protein, fat and carb macros might be a better measure of how on track your diet really is.

LIVESTRONG Gold members now enjoy our new macronutrient breakdown chart in the Progress section and can view protein, fat and carb macro intake averages for the past week. This new chart will definitely come in handy with a helpful overview of how you're faring in the big picture with your macro goals!
