Muscle gain??

I'm 165cm tall and at the beginning of Jan I weighed 10stone. since coming into the new year I've been eating healthier and eating vegan- I've started running and also lifting weights.. my aim is to tone up and lose fat. however I weighed myself yesterday and I've put on 2 pound. I was hoping that I would of lost weight. I do feel like I've lost some fat but I'm worried that I'm doing something wrong- I know that muscle weighs more than fat but would I really have put on that much muscle weight in such a short time??
