road to 500

I'm trying to get my deadlift to 500lb. I keep straining my hamstring or getting knee pain when I try 405 or more. This sets me back a few weeks every time it happens. When I keep my calories up it's less of a problem. I'm at a slight deficit and trying to get ripped for the summer so im getting a-bit snapped. I do warm up and foam roll. I haven't been able to do dead's or legs for two weeks now. Are there any tips anyone has for knee and hamstring preservation.
