i'm new to cooking

so i want to cook more often and stop eating out, kind of adventure out (due to my autism i'm a very picky eater so i'm pushing myself to try new vegetables and fruits because i never eat them) but i am getting stressed on when to buy the groceries and when to cook etc, i'm 16 and my mum 'holds the money' we go shopping once a week for groceries, should i buy the ingredients everyday depending on what meal i'm making or buy it when i'm with my mum
