This margarita is spiked with fresh ginger and chipotle chili powder. It gets its sourness from fresh lime juice instead of sugar-filled sour mix, which means it's lower in sugar and calories than your run-of-the-mill marg. The grated ginger in the cocktail is an anti-inflammatory and helps prevent nausea, while the chipotle adds a nice kick and is good for metabolism. For a fun presentation, roll the rim of the glass in chipotle.

INGREDIENTS

SERVES 1

  • 3/4 oz Lime Juice, Natural Strength
  • 3/4 oz Syrup, Maple
  • 1 1/2 oz Tequila
  • 1/4 tsp chipotle chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp raw ginger
  • 1 Lime Wedge

DIRECTIONS

1 Prepare the glass by rubbing the rim with a slice of lime, then dipping the rim in chipotle powder.
2 Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add tequila, lime juice, maple syrup, a pinch of chipotle powder and grated ginger.
3 Shake to combine and strain into prepared glass.
4 Garnish with a lime wedge.
