Edamame with Soy and Sesame

Edamame — another name for boiled green soybeans — are high in fiber and protein, simple to prepare and super easy to munch on. The drizzle of sesame oil and seeds add a satisfying crunch and nutty flavor to the cooked beans. (Photo credit: Heather Platt/LIVESTRONG.com)

INGREDIENTS

SERVES 1

  • 1 cup Edamame, frozen, unprepared
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 tsp Seeds, sesame seeds, whole, dried
  • 1/2 tsp Soy sauce made from soy (tamari)

DIRECTIONS

1 Place the edamame and 1/4 cup water into a microwave-safe bowl.
2 Microwave on high for 4 to 6 minutes, or until edamame are warm.
3 Drain excess water from edamame.
4 Drizzle the edamame with oil and soy sauce, and sprinkle on the sesame seeds.
5 NOTE: Add chili flakes, black sesame seeds or any other seasoning you like.
