Homemade Nutella

Forget the hydrogenated palm oil and loads of refined sugar -- this version uses vitamin-rich maple syrup and simple vegetable oil.

INGREDIENTS

SERVES 5

  • 30 Hazelnuts, beaked (Northern Plains Indians)
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1 medium banana
  • 1/3 cup Organic Cocoa Powder
  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup

DIRECTIONS

1 Combine hazelnuts and oil in a food processor and blend.
2 Add the the ripe banana, the unsweetened cocoa powder and the maple syrup and blend until smooth.
3 Serve on toast or with fruit like strawberries and sliced bananas.
