Paleo-Friendly Chocolate Habanero Chili

This recipe is labeled Paleo-friendly instead of strictly Paleo because the guajillo chocolate contains sugar, which is not a Paleo ingredient. If you’re on a 100-percent Paleo diet, replace it with unsweetened baking chocolate and add a half teaspoon of guajillo chile powder instead.

INGREDIENTS

SERVES 6

  • 1 1/2 lb Ground Beef*
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tbsp Habanero Peppers
  • 1 cup Tomatoes Diced
  • 4 oz Tomato Paste
  • 1 disk Guajillo Chili Chocolate Mexicano
  • 1 tbsp Cocoa Powder, Natural Unsweetened
  • 1/2 tbsp Algae Oil
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon!
  • 1 tsp Salt

DIRECTIONS

1 Notes:
  Use jarred diced tomatoes
  Use jarred tomato paste
2 Heat medium sized pot over med-high heat; add oil
3 Brown beef and onions for 10 minutes
4 Add habanero, tomato products, cocoa, cinnamon and salt, and reduce for five minutes
5 Turn off heat and add chopped chocolate
