It’s OK to keep your main dish plain and simple. Good ol’ grilled chicken breast or a seared wild salmon filet can hit the spot. But that doesn’t mean your side dish can’t be stylish.

  • 1 1/2 tbsp Tahini
  • 1 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 1/2 tbsp Green Tea, Japanese, Unsweetened
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Olive Oil, Extra Virgin
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/4 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1 pinch Cumin, Ground
  • 6 cups Broccoli Florets
  • 2 tbsp Pine Nuts

1 In a liquid measuring cup or small bowl, whisk together the tahini, lemon juice, 1 1/2 teaspoons of the green tea (or water), 1 1/2 teaspoons of the olive oil, the garlic, 1/8 teaspoon of the salt and the cumin. Set aside.
2 In a large stick-resistant skillet over medium-high, add the remaining 2 tablespoons green tea (or water) and 1 tablespoon olive oil, the broccoli, and remaining 1/8 teaspoon salt and cook until you hear sizzling. Cover and steam for 3 minutes. Then uncover and sauté until the broccoli is cooked through and browned as desired, about 3 minutes more.
3 Arrange the broccoli into individual bowls, drizzle with the tahini dressing, sprinkle with the pine nuts (preferably pan-toasted) and serve. (Hint: Like spice? Garnish with extra-thinly sliced red hot chili pepper!)
