Rustic Rutabaga Fries

Comforting, healthy and budget-friendly? These rutabaga fries have it all. Seasoning these fries with rubbed sage adds savory holiday-inspired flavor, while a sprinkle of black salt adds visual interest.

INGREDIENTS

SERVES 4

  • 1 medium Rutabagas, raw
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil, Extra Virgin
  • 1 tsp Spices, sage, ground
  • 1 tsp Gray Salt

DIRECTIONS

1 Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
2 Peel the rutabaga using a vegetable peeler or paring knife, and chop into fries 3-4 inches long and ¾-inch thick.
3 Combine the fries, olive oil and sage in a mixing bowl and stir to combine.
4 Pour the fries into a baking sheet lined with greased parchment paper.
5 Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, flipping once, until the fries are cooked throughout and slightly crispy on the outside.
6 Remove from the oven and serve immediately, garnished with the black or gray salt.
