Spicy Chicken and Basil Pizza

This is a comfort food recipe, reinvented. Pita stands in for traditional crust, while reduced-fat cheese replaces a full-fat version.

INGREDIENTS

SERVES 4

  • 2 100% Whole Wheat Pita
  • 1 cup Shredded Chicken Homemade
  • 1/4 cup Tomato Sauce
  • 1 cup Reduced Fat Shredded Mozzarella
  • 1 dash Sriracha

DIRECTIONS

1 Preheat oven to low broil. Place pitas on foil-covered baking sheet. Spray both sides with fat-free cooking spray. Broil until slightly browned on each side.
2 Toss shredded chicken with desired amount of Sriracha in bowl. Set aside.
3 Spread tomato sauce on pitas. Top with cheese, then chicken mixture.
4 Optional: Top with fresh torn basil leaves and fresh ground black pepper.
