Class up your salad with a little bubbly! “The combination of canola oil and almonds provide just enough of the "right" fat to leave you satisfied and full without offering too many calories from fat,” says Allison Stowell, RD for Guiding Stars, an objective food rating system for consumers. “And this salad gets high marks from me for the nutrient-rich spinach and strawberries.”



  • 3 tbsp Brut Champagne
  • 1 tbsp Strawberry Fruit Spread
  • 1 tsp Canola Oil
  • 5 cups Spinach
  • 2 cups Fresh Strawberries
  • 1/4 cup Dry-roasted Almonds


1 Ingredients:
2 tablespoons Brut champagne (Stowell says you can also use champagne vinegar or white wine vinegar if you don’t have any bubbly on hand)
3 tablespoon strawberry spreadable fruit, no sugars added
4 teaspoon canola oil
5 cups spinach, rinsed and trimmed
6 cups, fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
7 /4 cup unsalted dry-roasted almonds, sliced
9 Directions:
10 In a small jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine champagne, strawberry spreadable fruit, and oil.Cover and shake until ingredients are well combined. Place in the refrigerator until serving time. Tear spinach into bite-size pieces. Place in a large salad bowl and add strawberries. Shake dressing, pour over spinach mixture, and toss to coat. Sprinkle with almonds.
