Sunrise Chef Salad in a Jar

Who doesn't want a surprise in a jar? This recipe by dietician Jackie Newgent takes a plain old salad and turns it into something much more exciting.



  • 1 1/2 tbsp vinaigrette dressing
  • 1/2 whole Avocado
  • 1 Hard Boiled Eggs
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 2 oz Deli Thin Sliced Honey Smoked Lean Turkey Breast
  • 1 1/2 cups Baby Arugula, Organic, Cold Water Washed
  • 1 oz Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper


1 Fill the bottom of a large jar (or lidded bowl) with the vinaigrette. In order, top with the avocado, egg, salt (if using), turkey, arugula, cheese, and pepper. Cover and chill until ready to eat. Shake before eating.
2 Serve with 1/2 fresh whole grain “everything” bagel or bagel chips, if desired,
3 (Hint: Make at night; enjoy in the morning.)
