Vegan Whiskey Sour Cocktail With Aquafaba

This simple drink typically includes a combination of good bourbon, lemon juice, simple syrup and raw egg whites. This cocktail omits the raw eggs, however, and uses aquafaba instead. Recipe adapted from Absolut.

INGREDIENTS

SERVES 1

  • 3 oz Bourbon
  • 1 oz Lemon Juice
  • 1 oz Simple Syrup
  • 2 cherry Maraschino Cherries
  • 1 pieces Orange Slices
  • 4 Ice Cube
  • 1/4 cup Aquafaba

DIRECTIONS

1 Add aquafaba liquid to mixer and mix on high for about 10 minutes; stiff peaks will form. Divide the whip into two.
2 Add one cup of ice cubes to a shaker.
3 Next, add bourbon, lemon juice, simple syrup and half of whipped aquafaba and shake and strain into a chilled glass with ice.
4 Add remaining one to two dollops to the top of the drink, and garnish with two Luxardo cherries (because they’re that good), an orange slice and orange zest. Enjoy!
