Some of our favorite celebrities have secured a special place in our hearts because of how open they are about their lives. But when it comes to sex, is there such a thing as too much information? We all know that sex carries major benefits: It can relieve pain and lower stress, strengthen your bond with your partner, improve your heart and immune system and give you a full-body workout.

While some of us might be hesitant to publicly divulge any personal details about what we're up to in the bedroom (or in some cases, airplanes!), the following outspoken, sex-positive celebrities have no such qualms. Ready or not, here’s a list of 13 times your favorite celebrities let it all hang out.

1 Jennifer Lawrence: Germaphobia

Although Jennifer Lawrence's character in her new spy film "Red Sparrow" exudes sexuality, the 27-year-old actress revealed that she's in somewhat of a dry spell – by choice, of course. "I am making it clear that I have not had sex in a very long time," she tells British newspaper The Sun. The reason? She's incredibly afraid of germs. "I always talk like I want dk, but the truth is when I look back at my sexual past it was always with boyfriends," she says. "I am mostly also a germaphobe. I have made it this far without an STI. Dk is dangerous. If I was at the point where I could get an STI, doctors have already been involved. That is how much of a germaphobe I am." Being a germaphobe means that you're pathologically fearful of germs, bacteria, microbes, contamination and infection. While J. Law might come off as a little overly cautious, she reminds us of the importance of practicing safe sex, getting ourselves tested for sexually transmitted infections regularly and vetting our potential partners.

2 Katy Perry: Better With Age

Katy Perry had us all picking our jaws up off the floor when she ranked her past lovers based on their performances in bed. But during an intimate gig at The Water Rats pub in London, she revealed that none of those encounters compare to what she's getting now. "Let me tell you, if you’re not having great sex now, in your 30's it’s going to be amazing," she said, according to The Daily Mail. "I can’t speak to those of you in your 40's but I bet (sex) is great. And it’s fun and it’s consensual and it’s intimate. It’s so much fun if it’s consensual and beautiful." The "Teenage Dream" singer is not alone: One 2015 study found that 54 percent of women say that sex gets better with age. Another study found that while the frequency of sex for women ages 45-60 had decreased, the quality had increased due to improved self-confidence, self-knowledge and communication skills. We all have something to look forward to!

So, if you've got an itch, feel free to scratch it.

Have a fantasy date. Be his secretary! Be sneaky. Your girlfriend’s house at a party. The bathroom! A guest bedroom! Just switch it up. Anything like that can keep it going. Anything it takes to keep the flame alive.” Smith might be on to something: According to one 2016 study from Chapman University, people in long-term relationships were more likely to be satisfied with their sex lives when they incorporated a greater variety of sex acts, mood settings and sexual communication.

8 Patrick Dempsey: Car Sex

For most people, car sex is reserved for prom night. Not so for hunky “Grey’s Anatomy” actor Patrick Dempsey, however. In an interview with Access Hollywood about his $1 million Porsche Spyder, Dempsey reveals that he and his wife, Jillian Fink, use it for more than getting from point A to point B. “This is a great car, so you can have a really good time in these cars,” he says. “You have to be creative, but you can do it.” He could be talking about arts and crafts, but we doubt it.

9 Kate Upton: Superstitious Sex

Many athletes have their superstitions: Serena Williams bounces the tennis ball five times before her first serve, while Michael Jordan wore University of North Carolina shorts under his Chicago Bulls uniform. But we’re not exactly sure if this pregame habit of model Kate Upton’s husband has anything to do with luck. In a 2017 interview on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen,” Upton revealed how Houston Astros pitcher Justin Verlander keeps his head in the game. “There’s no sex before a game — absolutely none. And also what I’ve found out is that if he plays well, there’s no sex after either,” she says. “He’s exhausted! It’s kind of a buzzkill for me.”

10 Rihanna: Spanking

It turns out there’s more truth to Rihanna’s 10th Billboard Hot 100 chart topper “S&M” than you might’ve thought. In a 2011 interview with Rolling Stone, she admitted she prefers to be submissive in bed. “I work a lot, and I have to make a lot of executive decisions, so when it comes to being intimate, I like to feel like I’m somebody’s girl,” she says. “I like to be spanked. Being tied up is fun. I like to keep it spontaneous. Sometimes whips and chains can be overly planned — you gotta stop, get the whip from the drawer downstairs…. I’d rather have him use his hands.” It sounds like Rihanna isn’t afraid to tell her partner what she wants, which might indicate that her sex life is great. Research shows that knowing what you want from sex and communicating that to your partner can encourage a more active and satisfying sex life.

11. Jane Fonda: Sex Toys

11 Jane Fonda: Sex Toys

Last year, Jane Fonda’s character on “Grace and Frankie” started a business to sell sex toys to the elderly. So, naturally, Fonda did a bit of research (wink, wink). But according to an interview she gave on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” she may have taken it to the extreme. “I have [a vibrator] that hangs around my neck, and it looks like a beautiful piece of silver jewelry,” she said, adding that she will often wear it to dinner and use it in public. “It depends on who you’re with and what the bathroom looks like.” Good for Fonda — sex toys are a great option for women over 50 who have difficulty reaching an orgasm.

12 Pink: Dry Spells

Despite being happily married, Pink revealed she and husband Carey Hart have gone long stretches of time without having sex — a year, to be exact. While talking about the ups and downs of her relationship with the former motocross competitor, the “What About Us” singer tells the Guardian, “You’ll go through times when you haven’t had sex in a year. Is this bed death? Is this the end of it? Do I want him? Does he want me? Monogamy is work! But you do the work and it’s good again.” Long dry spells aren’t that uncommon. One survey even found that a third of moms had gone a few years without sex. But research shows that sex is key to a long and happy marriage. According to one study, couples should have sex once a week to maximize happiness. But having a dry spell doesn’t mean your relationship is doomed — check out this list of ways to sync up your sex drives.

13 Jessica Simpson: The Pregnancy "O"

A woman’s hormones surge during pregnancy, causing some not-entirely-unwelcome side effects. Ask singer Jessica Simpson, a mother of two, who made some candid comments about her experience while pregnant with her first child. “I am definitely ‘feeling intimate,’” she tells Ryan Seacrest during his radio show in 2012. “I’m kind of unstoppable right now. The Big O is, like, the biggest O ever!” For those of you wondering: Sex during pregnancy is completely safe in most cases. In fact, it can have some awesome benefits, like strengthening your pelvic floor to make for an easier labor, preventing preeclampsia, lowering your blood pressure and — as Simpson can attest — giving you better orgasms.
