I'm Tanya Eberhardt, and this is how to do a tripod headstand. A tripod headstand can be very challenging for a beginner. You want to make sure to engage the long head of the tricep and keep your elbows in closer together. It can be very challenging for your abdominal and core area and very rewarding at the same time. Make sure to really use your arm muscles to stay out of your cervical spine. Place a block on the floor, a foam or cork block and come next to the wall. Bring the crown of the head onto the block and make sure that the point where the soft part and the hard bone meet is on the block. Bring the elbows to 90 degrees and your hands shoulder width apart. Straighten out your legs and walk your feet into your hands, bring your knees onto your triceps and extend your legs slowly to the wall so your feet are against the wall and then walk your legs up the wall into a headstand. Make sure you are really pressing into your hands to keep the weight more in your hands than on your head, bend your knees and bring your knees back down onto your triceps and the feet onto the floor.
