Hi, Dale Abraham here at the beautiful Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. And I want to help you with optimizing your golf swing. So optimizing your golf swing is really an individual characteristic. And it depends a lot on flexibility, stability and a bunch of other factors. But for the general golfer, the golfer who typically slices optimizing your golf swing is making it efficient, solid contact and controlling your direction. So first of all controlling your direction is the club face. So we want to get the club face nice and square. That comes through a proper grip. In the fingers of the left hand with the between the thumb and index finger pointing at your right shoulder. And then the right hand that same line thumb and index finger pointing to your right shoulder. That helps you get the club face nice and square. Second part of that is getting the path. We want the path to be coming just slightly inside out or to the right of the target as you hit it. Great thing to do there is actually put a bunch of tees down on the ground and put the ball in the middle. Hit a shot and see which way your divot was pointing or which tees you knocked out of the ground. That will tell you what your path is doing. We want it to be slightly to the right of the target. And then finally hitting the middle of the face that again goes with a little bit of the other two but you can always put a gate down where you have tees on either side, trying to swing through the tees. Not hitting those. And then finally the swing plane. So we want to keep it on a flatter swing plane for most of you. Most people don't have the flexibility to really shaul the club as they make their downswing transition. So if you can swing it where your left arm is on your shoulder plane that would be a great way to actually help you optimize your golf swing. You'll find that you are more consistent, hit the ball further and straighter. And get better results.
