Sun damaged skin spots, otherwise known as age spots, liver spots and lentigines, typically impact those over 40, but are not completely unknown to younger persons who have been overexposed to the sun. They typically form on hands, shoulders, the chest and face, which have received the most sun exposure over the years. These discolored spots can be unsightly, so you may want to use at-home treatments to fade them away.

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice applied to the skin can lighten the pigmentation. As with most herbal and natural remedies, it requires patience and persistence for the full effect. Apply lemon juice twice per day onto the sun damaged skin spots. Spots should begin to fade after two months of application. Rinse well after allowing the juice to sit on the skin for 15 minutes. If redness or irritation develops, cut back your usage to once per day or every other day.

Apple Cider and Onion Juice

Mix one part apple cider and one part onion juice from a crushed, squeezed onion. Using a cotton ball, apply the mixture directly onto the sun spots. Leave mixture on the skin for a minimum of thirty minutes, then rinse. Apply once per day for a minimum of six weeks for visible results.

Vitamin E and Aloe Vera

Using vitamin E directly on the skin helps to nourish it and fade pigmentation issues. Break open a vitamin E oil capsule and rub the contents onto your sun damaged skin spots. Repeat this twice per day. If irritation develops, cut back to one application daily. You may also wish to moisturize your skin each morning and night with aloe vera. It will soften the skin, keep it hydrated and make your skin more receptive to skin spot fading treatments.
