A variety of commercial anti-aging face creams are available at cosmetics counters, but they're often full of unpronounceable chemicals and additives, can be expensive and aren't always effective. As an alternative, you can make your own face cream from healthy, natural ingredients. Honey and beeswax are effective ingredients in many beauty treatments, acting as natural moisturizers and humectants that will retain and replenish moisture, even during the dry months of winter. Rosewater will soothe, tone and rejuvenate the skin. Shea butter will soften and moisturize as it restores elasticity to dry skin.

Step 1

Place 1 to 2 inches of water in a baking pan and place the baking pan over low heat.

Step 2

Place 4 tsp. pure, organic beeswax pearls in a glass mixing bowl, and place the mixing bowl in the warm water. Stir the beeswax occasionally and allow the mixture to melt.

Step 3

Place 2 tbsp. rosewater in a glass cup. Place the cup in the water to warm while the beeswax is melting.

Step 4

Stir 2 tbsp. organic shea butter into the beeswax and stir constantly until the shea butter melts into the beeswax. Add 4 tsp. wheat germ oil and 2 tbsp. sweet almond oil into the beeswax mixture. Whip the mixture with a hand mixer or stick blender until the ingredients are completely incorporated.

Step 5

Continue to mix steadily as you add the warm rosewater and 2 tsp. warm, organic honey to the beeswax mixture. Remove the mixture from the heat and stir with a spoon until the mixture has cooled. Add 8 to 10 drops of the essential oils of your choice. Carrot seed, lavender, rose, sandalwood, myrrh and jasmine are all beneficial for mature skin.

Step 6

Pour the anti-aging face cream into small, sterile glass containers. Cover the containers securely and attach labels.
