Bentonite is a highly absorbent clay sometimes used to cleanse a colon in preparation for surgery or an exam, such as a colonoscopy. Calcium bentonite is the most absorbent type of bentonite, producing the greatest cleansing effect. Preparing a bentonite colon cleanse correctly is crucial. If prepared improperly, the bentonite can cause bloating and gastrointestinal upset. Consult your physician prior to using a bentonite colon cleanse.
Step 1
Pour 8 oz. of water into a glass.
Step 2
Mix 1 tbsp. calcium bentonite powder into the water. Stir the solution until the calcium bentonite powder is evenly distributed in the glass of water, which may take two to three minutes.
Step 3
Stir 1 tsp. of psyllium powder into the bentonite solution. Stir the solution for one minute to allow the psyllium to fully dissolve.
Step 4
Drink the bentonite colon cleanse immediately after preparation to prevent the bentonite from settling at the bottom of the glass.
