Preparation H, a brand-name hemorrhoid cream, has long been touted as a home remedy for wrinkles, puffy eyes and under-eye bags. In the past, Preparation H contained an ingredient called LYCD (Live Yeast Cell Derivative), which was thought to help skin heal. But the product was reformulated, and LYCD is now being excluded in creams produced in the U.S. If you'd like to give it a try for fighting crow's feet around your eyes, you can still find Preparation H containing LYCD in Canada or online.
Step 1
Select a small area of skin to try the cream on first. People with sensitive skin may have a reaction to one or more of the ingredients, so be careful during the first few applications. Don't apply it too close to the eyes and don't it apply on your eyelids until you're sure you have no allergic reaction to it.
Step 2
Apply a small amount of Preparation H on your crow's feet and pat gently until it is absorbed. The skin will feel greasy, but make sure no excess cream can leak into the eyes. Start with a very small amount and then reapply if necessary, as Preparation H can cause burning or itching.
Step 3
Leave the cream on overnight to give it time to plump up and smooth out your crow's feet. Because Preparation H constricts blood vessels, your eyes also should look puff-free in the morning.
Step 4
Wash your face with cool water the next morning and apply moisturizer and makeup as usual.
