If your hair is damaged from dyeing it, using harsh hair products or excessive heat styling, it's likely that it'll break off at some point. Just because some of your hair has broken off, doesn't mean you have to live with short locks forever. You can make your hair grow faster, even if its damaged, with taking good care of your hair now.

Wash your hair with a shampoo and a conditioner that uses high-quality ingredients. Skip products that contain harsh ingredients like sodium laurel sulfate and silicon and look for natural ingredients instead. Use products that are formulated for your hair type. If your hair is dry, use a shampoo and conditioner that is moisturizing, for instance. A few popular brands include Keratase, Head & Shoulders, Neutrogena and Biosilk.

Have your hair trimmed to remove broken ends and split ends. This will prevent damage from traveling up the hair shaft, causing your hair to break or fall out.

Let your hair down and don't put it up in tight or constricting hairstyles. Braids, ponytails and buns should be avoided. Constant tension on your scalp can make your hair fall out or break off.

Be gentle to your hair. When combing your hair, start at the bottom and work your way up to the top to avoid yanking on knots and tangles. Avoid heat styling. If you have to use a blow dryer, only use it for a few minutes. Curling irons, straightening irons and hot curlers should also be avoided. Avoid hair products such as mousse and gels. They can damage the hair follicle and cause strands to fall out.
