MALU LUJAN: So these are some really good techniques to help with foot cramps. One thing to know is, occasionally, people will get foot cramps that only lasts for about a minute, so you might give them a little time to just rest for a moment. But once the little seizing has stopped, you can do some stretching. So you just lift the leg from the knee and hold the foot and press down on the ball of the foot and press down on the toes, and then you can stretch the foot back. You can rotate the ankle. The other thing that you can do is a simple effleurage and you just rub. It's good to use lotion or oil. It creates less friction, and thumb pressure is wonderful. The arch of the foot represents a lot of the internal organs. If someone is feeling anxious or very tired, this area can be very stiff and tired, and you just press firmly but not too hard with your thumbs. Again, the effleurage is just a gentle, simple, firm stroke. It's good to use oil or lotion. You can also use your fists, and that feels really good. The ball of the feet, that's a wonderful area to massage. And again, I'm just using thumb pressure. The toes are a very neglected area, so I really recommend doing a little bit of gentle, firm pressure on the toes. Fingertips in between the toes with your fingers; thumb pressure again on the balls of the feet. The heels, you can use your thumbs on the heels, your hands, and then just finish it up with a little effleurage again.
