MELISA BROWN: Hi, my name is Melisa Brown and I'm a licensed massage therapist here in Miami, Florida. I'm with U Need A Massage. In this clip, I'm going to be talking about how to massage the clavicle. Now, the clavicle is this shoulder part right here. There are two bones. It's in a V-shape going from wide and to more narrow right here. So there is a lot of tension that builds up here in the clavicle. And the way I want to start by doing it is just by feeling where the bone is and going in there and feeling exactly what your boundaries are. And I like to go in the middle with this. So I can do several things. I can push the head to side. I can be doing a forearm roll or just a glide with my forearm. I'm just gliding out. And I'm always going to be starting at the base of the neck. I want to be sliding down, and I'm not using too much of my wrist. I'm using my forearm, and I'm sliding all the way down the bottom of the shoulder. Another thing I can do is I can be going in with my elbow. Two different ways, I can go with a flat on my elbow and go straight down or I can go in using the point of my elbow which happens to be very pointy and bony. So it's wonderful to slide down with that too. Just keep on grooving down the shoulder.
