Calculate Your Body Fat Percentage

Your body fat percentage is the percentage of fat your body contains. Fat is not inherently bad — it’s important for carrying out many bodily functions. You might need to ask someone to help you take these measurements, as it’s usually done under the supervision of an expert, such as a personal trainer.

How to Analyze Your Results

  • For women ages 20 to 40, healthy body fat is considered to be between 21 and 33 percent.
  • For men ages 20 to 40, healthy body fat is considered to be between 8 and 19 percent.
  • For women over 40, healthy body fat is considered to be between 23 and 55 percent.
  • For men over 40, healthy body fat is considered to be between 11 and 22 percent.
