I'm Jeremy Shore for Livestrong.com. This is how to use your rolling wheel on your knees for your abs. A rolling ab wheel is a highly advanced training tool for most people. And it takes a good deal of core endurance and stabilization strength to be used effectively and safely. To build up needed endurance and strength I recommend mastering the stability ball roll out first. Let me show you. To perform the ab wheel roll out safely and effectively we first want to master the stability ball roll out. Begin on your knees sitting tall, tucking your hips underneath. Abs are tight. Your fingertips on the ball out in front of you. From here dropping your hips forward as you roll out. Stay long and strong keeping the abs tights, the glutes tucked. Then roll the ball back in towards you. So roll out keep your neck, the lower back in a neutral position. Keep your abs tight, back flat. Then roll the ball in. Make sure to stay long and flat from ears to your knees and repeat. Once you've mastered the stability ball roll out you can then move on to the ab wheel roll out which is a more advanced move. You begin in the same position on your knees. However here your hands will be down on the handles of the wheel. Then we are going to extend out with the arms dropping our hips forward at the same time until we extend fully. and then return by drawing the wheel back in towards the body. To fully extend out keep everything long and strong and then roll back in using abdominals to pull the body back up. Drop the hips down and then draw back in. I'm Jeremy Shore for Livestrong.com.
