Hi, my name is Amber Nimedez-Lyftogt with LIVESTRONG.COM, and today we're going to do a few exercises in the Martial Arts horse stance to strengthen your legs. So, the first thing is to get into it properly and your feet are going to be about shoulder width apart, feet straight ahead and then you're going to go ahead and bend your knees. And you can actually check the pos, check this position by making a fist with your hand, placing it on the inside of the knee and dropping down if it's about fist width apart, you're good. Okay. So, your stance again about shoulder width apart, feet straight ahead, you're going to sit back and then open up those knees. Okay. You're going to hold this position and basically, you can just hold this position for about one minute or maybe two minutes if you like. But, you'll definitely feel the weight and the heat in your quads. And then what I like to do with my clients is have them put their arms out to the side and pulse down in each. So, you're going to pulse down, down, down, down, down. So, you're going to do that for about, I don't know, 30 pulses, maybe even 60 if you feel like you want to challenge yourself. And then the last one, place the hands behind your back, open up those shoulders, stand all the way up and then come right back down into the pose, and then take it up. So you're going to feel this in your quads and then you're also going to feel it in your gluts as well. So, you're working your quads and working your gluts and you can do each one, like I said, you can hold it for one to two minutes, you can pulse down for 30 to 60 and then you can also squat down and stand right back up for 30 to 60 as well. Those are some strength exercises that you can do in a Martial Arts horse stance. My name is Amber Nimedez-Lyftogt with LIVESTRONG.COM.
