Hi, my name is Shane Freels with LIVESTRONG.com. Today, we are going to show you several good cardio exercises for people with ankle injuries. I like circuit training. And the reason being is because circuit training actually burns more calories because you are building lean muscle at the same time you are building strength endurance. And you are getting the heart rate up through kind of what we call interval training at the same time. So cardiovascular training to me and with somebody who has an ankle injury can be done in a weight room with your body weight using a medicine ball. Using dumbbells. Using some bands, using some cables. We are going to show you an overhead press with dumbbells. It's going to be light weight, but it's going to be quick, okay. One of the things I like about this quick overhead press is it is light weight is that I'm a activating the core. So I'm working everything from the waist up. I'm being quick with my range of motion. I'm just working it so that I have to twist and push, and keep my heart rate up. I'm also going to show you a medicine ball workout that you can do when you rotate from side to side.
