I'm Renee Byrd with LIVESTRONG.COM, here to talk about how to recover from a 5K. There are a few critical points when you recover from a 5K. The first thing I want you to do is rather than just run to the finish line and kind of go sit on the sidelines guys make sure that you're bringing your heart rate down, maybe take a little jog, take a 5,10 minute walk that way you're recovering your muscles, you're recovering heart rate and you're gonna feel better. I know with the 5K we don't burn a lot of calories and we don't lose that many nutrients but it's very important after your 5K you immediately go grab something maybe like a banana, orange or maybe even a cup of low fat chocolate milk just to help your body recover from what it just went through. After you've ran your 5K don't forget replace those lost fluids, rehydration guys is gonna protect you from headaches and those long term muscle cramps that you just cannot stand to knife up. Don't forget the day after, don't sit on the couch guys, get up, keep moving, keep the blood flowing, help your body recover by getting moving. Again, I'm Renee Byrd with LIVESTRONG.COM, and we just spoke about how to recover from a 5K.
