My name is Dana Sanders, former NFL running back turned fitness trainer. We are here today in Seattle, Washington at beautiful Alki Point with LIVESTRONG.com. Today's question, how to increase your chest size but keep a toned tummy? Well again tone, anytime you say tone or burn you are going to do some cardiovascular. So I do suggest my favorite is walking up hill. Or just you know going in your neighborhood and taking a long walk every morning if you can. Anything to get out and just get some cardio going to help tone your body. You can't spot reduce so you are going to lose fat wherever you have fat. Now as far as increasing your chest size I love to go to the cable crossover machine cause there's three different exercises you can do on that machine. At the cable crossover which every gym has you are going to grab those grips that sit up high. They sit medium and they can sit low. So you'll start off grabbing the low grips and you bring your hands together. And when you get done with say a set of 10 of those you are going to go to the medium grips and then bring your hands together. And when you are done with those you go to what they call a high grip. And then bring your hands together. And these three different exercises they're very light on you. They don't cause a lot of joint pain. And they are really you know, they really tone your body. You can do that and from there another favorite to do to help burn some fat is to do pushups. It's just one of the best exercises I think you can do to help tone and size your chest. To put decent size on your chest. So I would suggest whatever is comfortable for you where you don't have any joint pain. Cause a lot of people can not do pushups with their hands really wide. So bring them in a little bit closer about shoulder width apart. And do as many pushups as you can that way take a break and then do another set. A great way to keep the tummy toned you can do side planks. You can do straight planks. You do crunches. And also what I suggest is when you are doing your abs also do some type of lower back exercise. There's a couple of machines in the gym you can use that will actually work your lower back. Always balance off your abdominal workout with a lower back workout. And these are some of the tips I recommend for increasing your chest size and keeping a toned tummy.
